Club Rides – Sunday 2nd June

There are 6 organised rides this week and 4 of them have a climbing look about them. As usual all rides are subject to numbers and weather conditions although the weather looks set fair for Sunday.
The Group 4 ride is not your normal steady ride as it is both long and tough, but has been asked for by some of the July Alpine trippers who are starting to get a bit edgy.

Graeme Boswell will lead the Fast group 1 from Maindy- Pontypridd- Merthyr- Talybont on Usk- Llangynidr- Ebbw Vale- Crumlin- Risca- A48 back to Maindy. 80 miles with 1 tough climb and 1 really tough climb. Coffee at Cwmcarn if required.

Tim Rich will lead the Faster Middle group 2 from Maindy- Pontypridd- Porth- Tylorstown- Penrhys- Gelli- Bwlch- Cymmer- Croeserw- Maesteg- Tondu- Heol Y Cyw-Groesfaen- Llandaff- Maindy. 62 miles with 1 long climb and 2 shorter steeper climbs. Coffee in Maesteg.

Andrew Davies will lead the Slower Middle group 3 from Maindy- Pontypridd- Abercynon- Aberdare- Hirwaun- Penderyn- Garwnant(coffee)- Merthyr- Pontypridd- Maindy. 70 miles with 1 long climb.

Martyn Lock will lead the Steady group 4 from Maindy- Pontypridd- Merthyr Vale- Merthyr- Clwydyfagwyr- Hirwaun- Rhigos- Treorchy(coffee)- Bwlch- Nantymoel- Blackmill- Glynogwr- Tonyrefail- Penygraig- Pontypridd- Maindy. 75 miles with 2 long climbs, 1 longish climb, 2 shorter steeper climbs and generally lumpy.

Graeme Donnan will lead the Steady group 5 from Maindy- Rumney- A48 to Newport-Caerleon- Christchurch- Usk(coffee)- Llangybi- Newport- Maindy. 50 miles rolling.

Liz Webb will lead the Slow/Beginners group 6 from Maindy to the Rhondda Heritage Park for coffee and back. 30 miles generally flat.
