Before I post the groups, I would just like to clarify the position with regards to which group should I go with?
Groups 1 and 2 are now both quick rides. There are 2 main differences. Group 1 go from the off and generally climb better. Group 2 start slower and build it up. Over a flatter route there is not a lot of difference.
There is very little difference between the pace of groups 3, 4 or 5. They will always be dictated by the pace of the slowest rider. You should choose the route that you like best in these groups because the pace will be the same. A few weeks ago we had 5 in group 4 and 32 in group 3 which is silly!!!
On the first Sunday of each month there will be a beginners ride which will be flat and fairly slow.
As usual all rides this week will depend on weather conditions and numbers of riders.
There is no group 1 ride this week.
Krzysztof will lead group 2 from Maindy-Pontypridd- Abercynon- Ystrad Mynach- Newbridge- Pontypool- Usk- Parc Seymour- A48 back to Maindy. 65 miles with 1 climb.
If the numbers are high in this group which has been the case over the past few weeks, Dave Badat will lead a split group somewhere else.
Lisa will lead group 3 from Maindy- Rhydyfelin- Cilfynydd- Merthyr Vale- Cefn Coed- Nantddu- Penderyn- Hirwaun- Aberdare- Pontypridd- Maindy. 75 miles with a few lumps going out.
Rhys will lead group 4 from Maindy- Pontypridd- Aberdare- Hirwaun- Rhigos- Treorchy- Pontypridd- Maindy. 60 miles with 1 climb.
Coffee stops will be arranged in the groups on the day.
Enjoy the rides
