Betty Pharoah Memorial Road Race

The 12th Year of the Betty Pharoah Memorial Legstretchers Road Race will be held on 28th March 2010.

The race was started by Reg Pharoah as a memorial to Betty. He successfully organised the race for 10years before passing the reins to Chris Landon this year.

The race is run as two events and is open to all senior and junior riders, from Elite to 4th cat. Notable winners include Ben Luckwell, Matthew Higgins and local rider Matt Rowe who won the 3/4 event in 2005 and the E123 event in 2008.

The race has had great support from local traders including Simon’s Cycles, Caravan Hospital, Forza Cycles, Ewenny & Corntown Village Shop and Reg Braddick Cycles.

The National Escort Group does a brilliant job and helped by Cardiff Ajax and South Wales cyclists and their friends as volunteer marshals and officials the race has been enjoyed by many.

Cardiff Ajax is looking for members and non-members, to volunteer as race officials and marshals. To help please email chris.landon@ntlworld.com A list of volunteers needed can be found in the Events Team section.
